History
Established in 1999

Michael Rothschild, O.D. founded West Georgia Eye Care in April of 1999. West Georgia Eye Care began as a very small practice dedicated to the ultimate care of each individual patient. As new technologies were added to the practiced West Georgia Eye Care started to grow.

West Georgia Eye Care has always prided itself in utilizing the most modern technologies. Their office was the first in the area to offer the Optomap Retinal Evaluation, as well as, the first OCT Cirrus and retinal tomography.

West Georgia Eye Care is set apart from other offices in its full service Optical Boutique. They carry the highest quality brands of frames and lenses. Their frames and lenses feature a two-year warranty.

In the spring of 2010, West Georgia Eye Care welcomed Dr. Kyle Edwards to the practice.

Meet the Business Owner: Dr. Mike Rothschild.
Michael Rothschild, O.D. founded West Georgia Eye Care in April of 1999. He graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 1997. He completed his internships in Ocular Disease and in Pediatric Vision. He has also worked as a consulting Optometrist for Tennessee Eye Care in Knoxville where he gained valuable experience in the management of patients with ocular disease and in surgical co-management. Dr. Rothschild then worked for Rome Eye Care, specializing in difficult to fit contact lens patients.

In June 2000, Dr. Rothschild was awarded the Young Optometrist of the year Award by the Georgia Optometric Association.

Dr. Rothschild regularly presents to other Optometrists on practice management issues. He frequently gives speeches to community groups regarding vision and eye health.
